How was our summer

Hello, everyone!
This is Upsala-Circus.
We would like to tell you a little bit about how we spent this intense summer and the first half of September.
In June we held the festival "Rebels for Peace", where everyone could participate and share the experience of contemporary circus.
At the festival we tried to create a dialogue with residents, talk about art, promote creativity and development of the city through circus, performances, music and urbanism.
We also wanted to break the stereotype of a circus with animals.
Looking at the people who live here, we begin to adapt to the new environment, observe and learn from them.
Our festival was attended by about 500 people.

The premiere of the performance " Fenster " took place. Zeitz, Neumarkt, 40.
The performance " Fenster " is a play about how we can help ourselves to understand the time in which we live.
The performance " Fenster " is a play about the struggle with our own fears.
The performance " Fenster " is a play about the coexistence of generations.
"Fenster" is about goosebumps and tears, about laughter and happiness, about a frozen heart.
In this performance artists fly out of windows, children tell us what countries they would like to visit, musicians play melodies from the past.
It is a performance in which we try to learn about the culture of a place that is new to us.
In 4 performances, the play was attended by about 2,000 people.

Then we held a three-day camp for our children and teenagers.
For three days we lived in tents, ate breakfast, ran around, laughed and got to know each other.
We ate 60 chicken cutlets, 113 nuggets, 6 kilos of pasta, 18 liters of juice and 10 liters of milk.
We also did 317 backflips, ran 79 laps together, drank 8 buckets of water, and saw three beautiful sunsets.
They also smeared each other with 5 tubes of toothpaste on a royal night.
For three days we lived in tents, ate breakfast, ran around, laughed and got to know each other.

It is a circus street performance for the whole family.
"Picnic" is one of the episodes of a series of plays about the life of the crazy family Abrikosov.
The performances show the relationships in the family in a comedic form:
Mom's dreams of the cosmos, the children's relationships: brothers and sisters, grandma and grandpa's love, dad's life in the subway and Uncle Mark's dystopia about the life of a cat in this crazy family. What they tell people together with the new member of the family, a Trabant.
It is a circus street performance for the whole family.
