How the method worksJak metoda funguje

Cases grew out of the artists’ own stories of migration, told in the language of circus: the body, objects, a suitcase that holds an entire life. Not a word is spoken on stage, so nothing is lost in translation. Cases vzniklo z vlastních migračních příběhů našich umělců, vyprávěných jazykem cirkusu: tělem, předměty, kufrem, který obsahuje celý život. Na jevišti nezazní ani slovo, takže se v překladu nic neztrácí.

1. 01 The languageJazyk

   The language of circus takes that barrier away, and we get to live the feeling together with the audience Jazyk cirkusu tuto bariéru odstraňuje a my můžeme prožívat emoci společně s publikem

   Difficult themes are best approached through images. The language of circus is supple, and it reaches people whatever language they speak: it lets us talk in symbols and with the body. It removes the barrier between us, so that performers and audience live through the same feeling without anyone counting words. K obtížným tématům je nejlepší přistupovat pomocí obrazů. Jazyk cirkusu je pružný a dostane se k lidem bez ohledu na to, jakým jazykem mluví: umožňuje nám mluvit symboly a tělem. Odstraňuje bariéru mezi námi, takže performeři i publikum prožívají stejný pocit, aniž by kdo počítal slova.

2. 02 The imageObraz

   What has life packed into your suitcase? That depends on how you look at it Co vám život naskládal do kufru? To závisí na tom, jak se na to podíváte

   A suitcase is not only a story about migration. It is an image for everything a life has packed into us. When we are born, our family, our country and the people closest to us hand us a suitcase. After that we either carry it with us and draw strength and inspiration from it, or we set it down, or we tip it out and pack something new. One image, and everyone in the room already has an answer of their own. Kufr není jen příběhem o migraci. Je obrazem všeho, co do nás život naskládal. Když se narodíme, naše rodina, země a nejbližší nám předají kufr. Poté ho buď neseme dál a čerpáme z něj sílu a inspiraci, nebo ho odložíme, nebo ho úplně vysypeme a naskládáme si do něj něco nového. Jeden obraz, a každý v sále už má svou odpověď.

3. 03 The searchPátrání

   The theme of a performance is not invented at a desk. It is found together with the people whose lives it touches: our artists brought their own stories, and those stories turned into images, music and movement. We also took away the line between the stage and the seats, because the point is not something to watch but a conversation that carries on afterwards. That search is the method, and it is exactly what you practise in the workshop. Téma inscenace nevzniká za psacím stolem. Nachází se společně s lidmi, jejichž životů se dotýká: naši umělci přinesli své vlastní příběhy a ty se proměnily v obrazy, hudbu a pohyb. Zmizela i hranice mezi jevištěm a hledištěm, protože nejde o to se na něco dívat, ale o rozhovor, který pokračuje dál. Toto pátrání je metoda a je to přesně to, co si vyzkoušíte na workshopu.

Point of viewÚhel pohledu The same situation seen through the eyes of different people, sometimes people who are utterly at odds. We hold those views side by side without judging them, and we choose to move forward rather than to dwell on the pain. Stejná situace viděná očima různých lidí, někdy lidí, kteří si zcela odporují. Tyto pohledy stavíme vedle sebe, aniž bychom je soudili, a rozhodujeme se jít dál, místo abychom se zabývali bolestí.
