Režisérka s viac než dvadsaťročnými skúsenosťami v súčasnom cirkuse a sedemnástimi turné inscenáciami. Pracovala s tínedžermi, profesionálnymi umelcami aj s ľuďmi, ktorí prešli skúsenosťou migrácie. A stage director with more than twenty years in contemporary circus and seventeen touring productions to her name. She has worked with teenagers, with professional artists, and with people who have lived through migration.
Každá inscenácia vzniká spoluvytváraním: každý účastník prináša svoj vlastný príbeh, a z týchto príbehov vzniká téma, v ktorej sa publikum spozná. Every production is built through co-creation: each participant brings a story of their own, and out of those stories comes a theme the audience recognises as its own.

How the method worksAko metóda funguje
Cases grew out of the artists’ own stories of migration, told in the language of circus: the body, objects, a suitcase that holds an entire life. Not a word is spoken on stage, so nothing is lost in translation. Cases vzniklo z vlastných migračných príbehov našich umelcov, rozprávaných jazykom cirkusu: telom, predmetmi, kufrom, ktorý obsahuje celý život. Na javisku nezaznie ani slovo, takže sa v preklade nič nestráca.

The language of circus takes that barrier away, and we get to live the feeling together with the audience Jazyk cirkusu túto bariéru odstraňuje a my môžeme prežívať emóciu spoločne s publikom
Difficult themes are best approached through images. The language of circus is supple, and it reaches people whatever language they speak: it lets us talk in symbols and with the body. It removes the barrier between us, so that performers and audience live through the same feeling without anyone counting words. K náročným témam je najlepšie pristupovať cez obrazy. Jazyk cirkusu je pružný a dostane sa k ľuďom bez ohľadu na to, akým jazykom hovoria: umožňuje nám hovoriť symbolmi a telom. Odstraňuje bariéru medzi nami, takže performeri aj publikum prežívajú rovnaký pocit, bez toho aby niekto počítal slová.

What has life packed into your suitcase? That depends on how you look at it Čo vám život naskladal do kufra? To závisí na tom, ako sa na to pozriete
A suitcase is not only a story about migration. It is an image for everything a life has packed into us. When we are born, our family, our country and the people closest to us hand us a suitcase. After that we either carry it with us and draw strength and inspiration from it, or we set it down, or we tip it out and pack something new. One image, and everyone in the room already has an answer of their own. Kufor nie je len príbehom o migrácii. Je obrazom všetkého, čo do nás život naskladal. Keď sa narodíme, naša rodina, krajina a najbližší nám odovzdajú kufor. Potom ho buď nesieme ďalej a čerpáme z neho silu a inšpiráciu, alebo ho odložíme, alebo ho úplne vysypeme a naskladáme si doňho niečo nové. Jeden obraz, a každý v sále už má svoju odpoveď.

The theme of a performance is not invented at a desk. It is found together with the people whose lives it touches: our artists brought their own stories, and those stories turned into images, music and movement. We also took away the line between the stage and the seats, because the point is not something to watch but a conversation that carries on afterwards. That search is the method, and it is exactly what you practise in the workshop. Téma inscenácie nevzniká za písacím stolom. Nachádza sa spoločne s ľuďmi, ktorých životov sa dotýka: naši umelci prinesli svoje vlastné príbehy a tie sa premenili na obrazy, hudbu a pohyb. Zmizla aj hranica medzi javiskom a hľadiskom, pretože nejde o to niečo sledovať, ale o rozhovor, ktorý pokračuje ďalej. Toto pátranie je metóda a presne to si vyskúšate na workshope.
Point of viewUhol pohľadu The same situation seen through the eyes of different people, sometimes people who are utterly at odds. We hold those views side by side without judging them, and we choose to move forward rather than to dwell on the pain. Rovnaká situácia videná očami rôznych ľudí, niekedy ľudí, ktorí si úplne odporujú. Tieto pohľady stavíme vedľa seba, bez toho aby sme ich súdili, a rozhodujeme sa ísť ďalej, namiesto zaoberania sa bolesťou.

The workshop runs alongside the performance and lasts 90 minutes. Twenty-five to thirty places in each city, free of charge. An interpreter works at every workshop. Workshop prebieha spolu s predstavením a trvá 90 minút. V každom meste je 25 až 30 miest, zadarmo. Na každom workshope pracuje tlmočník.

Larisa opens a suitcase. It is the image we tell our story through. This is where the group tunes in to one another. Larisa otvorí kufor. To je obraz, ktorým rozprávame svoj príbeh. Tu sa skupina začína vzájomne vnímať.

For everyone who works creatively with people going through hard times: social workers, teachers, volunteers, artists, and teams at NGOs and cultural institutions.

Metódu otvárania náročnej témy vo vlastnej skupine a prvý konkrétny krok, ako ju využiť vo svojej práci. A method for opening a difficult theme with your own group, and a first concrete step for putting it to use in your work.
Koľko to stojí? How much does it cost?
Nič. Účasť je zadarmo a je to vedomé rozhodnutie, nie zľava. Zdieľanie praxe s kolegami a kolegyňami po celej Európe je jedným z dôvodov, prečo toto turné existuje, a program workshopov podporuje Kreatívna Európa. Žiadame len, aby ste vyplnili formulár a naozaj prišli: počet miest je obmedzený. Nothing. Taking part is free, and that is a deliberate decision, not a discount. Sharing practice with colleagues across Europe is one of the reasons this tour exists, and the workshop programme is supported by Creative Europe. All we ask is that you fill in the form and then actually turn up: places are limited.
